Event Summary - The River Run Half Marathon

We’re back for 2026!
After a sold-out first year, we’re ready to welcome runners to the bigger and better River Run Half Marathon.

We’ve listened to your feedback and made improvements to create one of the best Half Marathons in the South East of England. You won’t want to miss the upgraded River Run along the stunning River Adur route!

Whether you’re a trail enthusiast or a road runner, this race is for you.

Starting in the beautiful town of Shoreham-by-Sea, this is one of the most picturesque half marathons in the UK — fast, flat, and perfect for runners of all levels.

The River Run is part of "The South Coast Series" this race will be the final of the 4.

Organiser's Description

The second year of The River Run Half Marathon will bring a few exciting changes following its inaugural event in 2025. The start and finish will remain at Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea. This year, runners will begin with a loop of the Adur Rec and head down the same route alongside Shoreham Airport and turn right onto the Toll Bridge and follow the Downs Link, offering a smoother and wider path all the way to Upper Beeding. From there, the route heads into the town and across the newly built bridge, passing behind the historic Bramber Castle before returning to the river on the opposite side for the final stretch back to the start line. Runners will be split into different waves to avoid any congestion on the course.

The Course Route will be updated to include the new bridge installed in Upper Beeding/Bramber. The course GPX will be updated once the system confirms the bridge has been completed.
